Retrospective_Yamashita Bay Project
The Yamashita Bay Project is a project that aims to develop the trading industry and port city culture during the high economic growth period of the Showa era. The scenery of the wharf that supported the city, the shed and warehouses, the roads and lighting facilities, the tugboat mooring facilities, and the containers etc. The Polaroid camera system is used to record the era in retrospect.
Bricolage
ブリコラージュ、器用仕事、有り合わせの材料と道具で新しいものを作る
ポラロイドの写真装置としてのフィルム装填、撮像、フィルムの送り出しの仕組みにふ頭業者の上屋への搬入、保管、搬出の仕組みの運動を見だしています。２０世紀の産業が生み出したその時代には新しく、そして今は古くなった機構を顧みる行為は 対象への利害を離れて風景に批判的に対峙するフィールドワークとなります。消えつつある昭和の産業遺産を、消えつつある昭和の産業製品ポラロイドカメラシステムの機材とフィルムで捉える事で「いまここにしかない」古い都市の記憶を定着します。
In the mechanisms of film loading, imaging, and feeding of film as a Polaroid photographic device, I find the movement of the mechanisms of loading, storing, and unloading of film into and out of port operators' sheds. The act of looking back at the mechanisms that were new in their time, and that have now become obsolete, produced by 20th century industry, becomes fieldwork that critically confronts the landscape without any interest in the subject. By capturing the vanishing industrial heritage of the Showa era with the equipment and films of the Polaroid camera system, the memories of old cities that are "only here and now" will be established.

山下ふ頭について
山下ふ頭は、高度経済成長期の1963（昭和38）年に完成した在来貨物中心のふ頭です。横浜港を支える主力ふ頭として東南アジアや中近東航路の貨物船に利用されました。 ふ頭面積 47ha、岸壁総延長1,633mの構内に上屋（うわや）や倉庫、荷さばき地、物揚場、航空貨物ターミナルや曳船係留施設などがあり、港湾サービスの拠点としての役割もあります。
通関取扱い人 Customs Brokerage Agent / 1970'
コンテナ船による産業需要の変化から、貨物船による取扱貨物量は年々減少し近年は、外港の本牧ふ頭、南本牧ふ頭、大黒ふ頭などを補完する物流機能を担っています。また、ふ頭完成からすでに50年以上が経過しており、施設の老朽化が進んでいます。 現在は、立地特性を活かした観光需要に対応可能な再開発計画が進められています。再開発計画により、倉庫等の移転、解体が進められています。
About Yamashita Pier
The Yamashita Wharf was completed in 1963, during the period of rapid economic growth, and was mainly used for conventional cargoes. As the main pier supporting the Port of Yokohama, it was used by cargo ships on Southeast Asian and Middle Eastern routes. With a wharf area of 47ha and a total length of 1,633m, the wharf is equipped with a shed, warehouses, a loading area, a loading yard, an aviation With a cargo terminal and tugboat mooring facilities, the port also serves as a hub for port services. Due to changes in industrial demand for containerships, the amount of cargo handled by cargo ships has been decreasing year by year, and in recent years, the volume of cargo handled by cargo ships has been decreasing in the outer harbor. It plays a complementary distribution function to the Honmoku Wharf, Minami Honmoku Wharf and Daikoku Wharf. More than 50 years have passed since the completion of the piers, and the facilities have become decrepit. Currently, a redevelopment plan is underway to meet tourism demand by taking advantage of the location's characteristics. As part of the redevelopment plan, warehouses and other facilities are being relocated and dismantled.

泰生ポーチビルの持つコンパクトな設計と、現在取り組んでいるポラロイドによる制作のコンセプト
に親和性を見出して、山下埠頭プロジェクトの写真によるフィールドワークを展示しています。
With retrospection and bricolage as its main concepts, this exhibition shows the photographic fieldwork of the Yamashita Wharf project, finding an affinity between the compact design of the Taisei Porch Building and the Polaroid production concept we are currently working on.
